My Brother

Oh brother of mine
Oh brother so true
What did I
Ever do to you

That you would hurt me
And leave me here
Sitting alone
With you to fear

They told me don't trust you
I'd only get burnt,
But I didn't listen
I was already hurt

Now I still love you
And I miss you, too
This lesson I learned
Was to forgive you.

The poem "My Brother" was my way of expressing that I had no hardfeelings about the past with my older brother who I had not had a good relationship with. Each time he hurt me, people, includingmy family would tell me not to trust him if he didn't earn it, but I kept trusting him, and he kept getting more and more violent, and terrifying me. this poem is an expression of the forgiveness God enabled me to give.
