Getting Married!!

I haven't written on my blog in over a month. I won't be adding any more poems until I get home and settle in, but I thought I would let any one that actually reads my blog know that I am getting married! Tim and I got engaged April 3, and will be getting married on New Year's Eve.

My Friend

You were my friend
But you left me here
I thought we would be
Forever a pair

You did for me
What no one would do
You were for me
What no one would be.

You were there when I cried
And there when I tried
You were there for me
When my Papa died

You were always there
And never mean
You had time to share
And you shared it with me

I will never forget
The day we met
Please remember me, Larissa Jean

This poem was written about the one girl that befriended me when I moved to a new school in the fourth grade. She gave up all her friends and possible popularity to be friends with me, the new girl. We continued to be friends, even when she left the school, and to this day, I consider her to be the best friend I ever had.

Remeber When

Remember when, Katy Lynn
So long ago when young,
You were my friend Katy Lynn
In days now seen as done

Remember when we played as kids
Not a worry in the world
We laughed and played
You came to my birthday

As time goes by, I wonder when
We've grown so far apart
I remember you, Katy Lynn,
You're close to me
You'll always be in my heart.

This poem was written about a friend from grade school, who I lost contact with when her mom remarried, and I was put in a new school. She was my best friend, and I hope to one day catch up with her and continue the friendship.

Loving You

Do you love me
I cannot say
Do I love thee
I'll know one day

Tell me this
Can you not see
What it is
You've done to me

I need your love
I need your care
Big Brother I love,
Are you still there

I claimed you friend
The day we met
Do you my brother
Love me yet

I hugged you this morning
"I love you" did say
You answered by turning
And walking away

It burned me once
It burned me twice
Is loving you
Now worth the price

I cannot say
I dare not see
What I learned today
I learned from thee

I wrote this poem about a friend that had become like a brother to me, and I always refered to him as my big brother. But one day, when I saw him outside and ran to give him a hug, he turned and walked away without a word. This crushed me so badly that I went inside in tears, fe3eling a lot like the weather outside at the time- drearry and stormy. Although things were later made right with that friend, the new view of love it created stayed with me.

Love

What is love
But a word undefined
It has no meaning
It has no sign
For those yet clinging
In hope and pain
To life with no meaning
For love they can't claim.
This was written at a time when I felt all my friends who had told me they cared about me or loved me, had turned around and left me. Although love does have a meaning, to those in pain, it doesn't mean anything, and this causes their whole life to have no meaning. To those people, love is a word undefined.
